about

Steven Universe has taken over my senses. It feels like 2011 all over again. Except this time, I'm a far better musician and can adequately express my adoration of this delightful work of animation. After becoming bolstered by doing a few covers (namely my "Lapis Lazuli" cover) and I had this idea of doing something epic about the Gem War or about the Kindergarten.

A few of my fans expressed disappointment that my recent work has not been very "progressive' so... here's something to make up for it.

Special thanks to Tarby for helping me reign in my complexity a little and The Ringo Zone podcast for tossing some lyrical ideas my way. :-)

Track Name: Rose's Rebellion
Millenia in the past humanity had just awoken
An ageless race came to us, who knew our home would be broken
We gladly served our Goddess, upon her throne of rose
The shine in her eyes dimmed, the coming terror undisclosed

"All life deserves a chance”
She cried to diamonds from the sky
They didn’t give us a second glance
She went to war with her own kind

This global Disease was sapient, injecting themselves into the ground
Siphoned the life from our planet, then came death and famine
Apathetic to all the damage, Gods uncaring if we could manage

She couldn’t stand our pain
She leapt to battle, tears in her eyes
Her kin had become monsters
Leaving another species to die
"All life deserves a chance”
She cried to diamonds from the sky
They didn’t give us a second glance
She went to war with her own kind

So began the rebellion

She couldn’t stand our pain
She leapt to battle, tears in her eyes
She saw her own were monsters
Leaving another species to die
The war waged for centuries
They left, the rose shielded mankind
Only a few of her friends survived
To defend our home she stayed behind

There’s no such thing as a good war
